Maj.-Gen. Herzl Halevi made a similar visit in February with Mossad Chief Yossi Cohen.

The remarks came ahead of a visit to the region by Jared Kushner, a senior adviser and son-in-law to U.S. President Donald Trump, and after the UAE and Israel struck a deal to normalize ties.

A PIJ rep said that the “Zionist regime... will remain an enemy" and that its destiny "is destruction and decay, and whoever has a relationship with it will be transferred to the dustbin of history."

“It is now time for both sides to come together and engage in the dialogue to deliver the negotiated two-state solution."

So far, six patients have been treated, all of whom left the hospital virus free within 48 to 72 hours.

The visit is the director-general’s first to the country since he took office last December.

The Education Ministry has also laid out a closure and reopening plan in case of an increase in coronavirus infections, and it will continue to monitor the amount of patients in each school.

Move comes as tensions continue to rise with rival Turkey in the Mediterranean.
