Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to visit Moscow on Jan. 17 and sign a cooperation agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian state news agency RIA cited Iran's ambassador to Russia as saying on Thursday.Russia has cultivated closer ties with Iran and other countries hostile towards the US, such as North Korea, since the start of the Ukraine war.The country's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in October that Moscow and Tehran intended to sign a deal which would include closer defense cooperation.The United States accused Tehran in September of delivering close-range ballistic missiles to Russia for use against Ukraine, and imposed sanctions on ships and companies it said were involved in delivering Iranian weapons. Tehran denies providing Moscow with the missiles.

Guatemala is open to receiving citizens of other Central American nations who are deported from the United States, three sources familiar with the matter said, as the country looks to build a positive relationship with the incoming Trump administration."There has to be a regional response," a Guatemalan official who requested anonymity told Reuters. "And we want to be part of the solution."

Russia's aviation watchdog said on Thursday that all four Moscow airports and the airport in Kaluga, 160km (100 miles) southwest of Moscow, were closed temporarily, without giving the reason."Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport services are taking all necessary measures to ensure flight safety," the statement from Rosaviatsia said.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced last Thursday that the New York State Police would investigate the widespread graffiti of Nazi symbols at Long Island's Shadmoor State Park.The Jewish Center of the Hamptons shared on social media that signs throughout the park had been vandalized with the Nazi paramilitary Schutzstaffel double "S" symbol and the Nazi Swastika, one of which was accompanied with the words "the Jew" in German. Hochul said that the graffiti had since been removed."Antisemitism will never be tolerated in New York, and we will confront it whenever it rears its ugly head," said Hochul.The Jewish Center organized a solidarity rally at the Montauk Gazebo last Thursday in response to the vandalism.

The Chambersburg Police department is investigating antisemitic graffiti reported in the Pennsylvania last Tuesday morning.The graffiti on the train tracks consisted of antisemitic symbols and slurs, said the CPD, and are seeking the public's aid in identifying suspects in the criminal mischief incident.
